Catherine Fleming Bruce, the CEO of Tnovsa Global Commons, is the author of, “The Sustainers: Being, Building and Doing Good through Activism in the Sacred Spaces of Civil Rights, Human Rights and Social Movements.” The book won the 2016 University of Mary Washington Historic Book Prize, making her the first African-American to receive the award. Catherine has been involved of every aspect of preservation of historic buildings for decades, to include placing buildings on the National Register of Historic Preservation, writing successful grants for the erection of historical markers and installation of historic plaques, and preservation of historic buildings.
